Wagner Santos Lago (born 1 January 1978) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for NK Široki Brijeg in Bosnia & Herzegovina, where he is the captain.[1][2]
Career
Born in Ilhéus, Wagner began playing football with local clubs in the Bahia, Goiás and São Paulo state competitions before embarking on an eleven-year career in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He left Jaboticabal Atlético for HSK Posusje in July 2003.[3] The midfielder has averaged more than ten goals per season while playing for Široki Brijeg.[4]
Wagner's brother, Ricardo Santos Lago, is also a professional footballer who became a naturalised Bosnia international.[4]
