Waakye is a Ghanaian dish of cooked rice and beans. It is commonly prepared in the home, but is also sold by roadside vendors. It is prepared by boiling the beans and rice together.[2] It is a popular dish in Ghana[3]
Waakye is mostly eaten for breakfast or lunch. It may be eaten with Kelewele, fried fish, wele, fried plantain, boiled eggs, fried chicken. It originated from the northern parts of Ghana.
