WZZX (780 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve Lineville, Alabama. WZZX is simulcasting sister station WFXO. The station is owned by Williams Communications Inc. It airs an Urban music format.[2]
The station was assigned the WZZX call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.[3]
Previously the call sign "WZZX" was assigned to an FM station licensed to Jeffersontown, Kentucky, serving the Louisville market. With the slogan "Album Rock In Stereo" it was one of the last independent free-form album rock formats. In 1981 the format was dropped in favor of a Schulke "beautiful music" format and the calls changed to WJYL, "The Joy of Louisville".
