WURB is a planned commercial radio station in Cross City, Florida, broadcasting to the Gainesville, Florida area on 97.7 FM. The station is owned by Urban One Broadcasting Network and will broadcast a Urban Adult Contemporary format targeting 34- to 65-year-olds.
Originally scheduled to begin broadcasting December 1, 2013,[1] the station's launch was delayed until a date yet to be announced. In early 2014, the station filed an application with the FCC to relocate the station to Fort White and downgrade to a Class A signal at 6000 watts, in order to better serve Gainesville; that application expired in July 2014.[2] The station has another application on file, in which it would broadcast as a 1000-watt Class A station from Cross City, focusing only on that area.
