WLPO (1220 AM) is a radio station licensed to LaSalle, Illinois covering Northern Illinois, including LaSalle, Ottawa, and Princeton. The station currently airs a classic hits format and is owned by La Salle County Broadcasting Corp.[1]

Prior to December 26, 2013, WLPO aired a news-talk format and carried a variety of local programming as well as nationally syndicated shows, such as Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Dave Ramsey, Dennis Miller, and Dr. Joy Browne.[2] Over the years, the station's branding as a News-Talk station included "The News and Talk of the Valley",[3] the "Voice of the Valley"[4] and the "Spirit of the Valley".[5]

In June of 2013, 103.9 signed on as a 24-hour simulcast of WLPO AM 1220. The FM simulcast gives better coverage over the Illinois valley area especially at night when WLPO AM is legally required to lower their power so they don't interfere with AM 1220 WKRS in Waukegan, Illinois.
