WEJZ (96.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an adult contemporary music format. Licensed to Jacksonville, Florida, USA, the station serves the Jacksonville area. The station is currently owned by Renda Broadcasting.[1] Its studios are located on Atlantic Boulevard in the Arlington district of Jacksonville, and the transmitter tower is downtown.

History

The 96.1 frequency was the original FM home in Jacksonville for Beautiful Music station WKTZ, now on the noncommercial FM band. It changed call letters to WLCS-FM on October 1, 1985, at which time the WKTZ call letters and format moved to Jacksonville station WFAM. On June 21, 1987, WLCS changed its call sign to the current WEJZ with its current adult contemporary format as "Lite 96.1".[2]

In January 2015, WEJZ dropped the "Lite" in their name, rebranding as "96.1 WEJZ".
