WCCU Radio is the Student radio station of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. Currently, the station broadcasts only on the World Wide Web, but the university has applied for an over-the-air radio station. Live broadcasts from Brittain Hall run from 8 A.M. to midnight, with automation overnight (WCCU is part of the Backbone Network). The format is diversified, with music that includes all forms of rock, reggae, electronic, hip-hop, and talk radio such as celebrity gossip and relationship advice.

The station provides information students could obtain through all forms of media, and allows students to express themselves, not only to an on-campus audience, but throughout the world thanks to an iTunes listing. All students who want a show must pass a Federal Communications Commission test and submit a plan for the show to faculty adviser Kim Schumacher and the station's manager.

Although webcasts began in February 2009, the official opening of the radio station occurred on March 27, 2009.[1]

In the fall of 2011, the station has gone through new management and re-development. The station has gained a larger audience since and hopes to continue to strengthen by seeing its official launch on Coastal's TEAL day, Monday, September 19th.

WCCU Radio is a product of the Department of Communication & Journalism at Coastal Carolina University.
