The North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service promotes and facilitates service and volunteering to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement in North Carolina.
The North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service encourages community service and volunteerism as a means of problem solving across the state. The Commission administers two federal programs in NC: AmeriCorps*State and Citizen Corps. The Commission also administers the Governor's Volunteer Service Award Program and is a collaborative partner in the NC Mentoring Partnership.
The Commission strives to enhance the quality of life for North Carolinians through volunteer and community service and to ensure their long term prosperity by promoting the capabilities of people, communities and enterprises utilizing community service and volunteerism as an integral part of the growth of North Carolina.
