Vlerick management school in Ghent

The Vlerick Business School ("Vlerick") is the autonomous management school of Ghent University and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Vlerick was founded in 1953 by professor, politician and entrepreneur Baron André Vlerick.[3]

Vlerick has four international campuses in Brussels, Ghent, Leuven (Belgium) and Saint Petersburg (Russia). Vlerick also has a cooperative program with BiMBA of Peking University's China Center for Economic Research in Beijing (China).[4]

Vlerick offers MBA & Masters in Management, as well as general and specialized courses for managers, and custom-designed training for individual companies. Over 17,000 alumni in more than 100 different countries are alumni of the management schools.[5][6] In 2015, Vlerick MBA Program was ranked top 100 MBA Programs and Top 10 MBA Program in Entrepreneurship worldwide by Financial Times.[7][8]

Accreditation

Vlerick Business School holds three international accreditations: The American AACSB, the British AMBA, and the European EQUIS.[9][10]

In 2010 Vlerick Business School, for its excellence in co-operation projects with the corporate world in Belgium, was chosen to be a part of the BBNM Group. Today, they are represented among the BBNM Member schools.[11]

In 2016, Vlerick increased their profile in Belgium when former dean Philip Haspeslagh changed his name to Philip Haspengouw upon acquiring the eponymously named Pear and Apple orchard in the Limburg region. This synergy lead almost immediately to an increase in the much sought after International rankings, an issue Vlerick had been working to remedy for years.
