Vladimír Pláteník (born February 18, 1976) is a tennis coach and \former Slovak professional tennis player. Pláteník is currently a head coach at the international EMPIRE Tennis Academy in Trnava, Slovakia where he works with Daria Kasatkina from Russia.[1]

He is the former coach of Dominika Cibulková, the 2014 Australian Open finalist. Pláteník was coaching her during the 2007 – 2009 period when she was in the semi-final of the 2009 Roland Garros. In the quarterfinal, she won against Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-2.[2] On July 6, 2009 she has reached No. 12 in the WTA rankings.[3]

A native of Bratislava is the vicepresident of the Professional Tennis Coaches Associationfor Slavic countries and PTCA certified coach.[4]
