Visa Europe Ltd. is a membership association and cooperative of over 3,700 European banks and other payment service providers[5] that operate Visa branded products and services within Europe. Visa Europe was an entirely separate company to Visa Inc. having gained independence of Visa International Service Association in October 2007 when Visa Inc. became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.[6] It was acquired by Visa Inc. on November 5 2015, creating a single global company.[7]

Visa Europe Services Inc. is a company registered in Delaware, USA and wholly owned subsidiary of Visa Europe Ltd. that operates from London.[6] Visa Europe Services Inc. provides the brand, systems, services, and rules, under license from Visa Inc., that enable electronic payments between consumers, businesses, and merchants within the Visa Europe area of operations.[8] It also provides the reporting and analysis tools for the European operation.
