Virginia Brindis de Salas
Virginia Brindis de Salas (1908–1958) was a poet of the black community of Uruguay.
Background
Brindis de Salas was an active contributor to the black artistic journal Nuestra Raza. Her writings made her, along with Pilar Barrios, one of the few published Uruguayan women poets.[1]
Poetry collections
Brindis de Salas published two collections of poetry. Pregon de Marimorena was issued in 1946. In 1949 she issued Cien Carceles de Amor.
