Vinje Church (Norwegian: Vinje kyrkje) is a parish church in Voss municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Vinje. The church is part of the Vinje parish in the Hardanger og Voss deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in 1871 by the architect Ole Vangberg. The church seats about 350 people.[1][2]

History

Vinje has been a church site since the middle ages and is mentioned for the first time in historical records in 1329. That church was most likely a stave church. In the 1670s, a new log church was built nearby in the village, but not necessarily on the same exact site. Then in 1871, the present church was built in Vinje.[3]
