Viktar Aliaksandravich Vabishchevich (Belarusian: Віктар Аляксандравіч Вабішчэвіч; born March 22, 1989 in Brest) is a Belarusian swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events.[1] He posted a Belarusian record time of 28.03 seconds in the preliminary heats of the men's 50 m breaststroke at the 2012 European Aquatics Championships in Debrecen, Hungary.[2] He also won a bronze medal in the same event at the 2007 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, clocking at 28.62 seconds.[3]

Vabishchevich qualified for two swimming events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 1:02.19 from the Belarus Open Championships.[4] In the 100 m breaststroke, Vabishchevich challenged seven other swimmers on the fifth heat, including two-time Olympians Mike Brown of Canada, and two-meter tall swimmer Andrew Bree of Ireland. He rounded out the field in last place by less than 0.16 of a second behind Algeria's Sofiane Daid with a time of 1:03.29. Vabishchevich failed to qualify for the semifinals, as he placed forty-ninth overall in the preliminary heats.[5] Vabishchevich also competed in the 4×100 m medley relay, along with his teammates Pavel Sankovich, Yauheni Lazuka, and Stanislau Neviarouski. Swimming the breaststroke leg, Vabishchevich recorded a time of 1:01.89, and the Belarusian team finished the preliminary heats in last place, with a final time of 3:39.39.[6]
