Vijay Rural Engineering College fondly called as VREC is a private engineering college established in 1997 in Nizamabad, Telangana, India.It is 8 kilometers away from Nizamabad railway station and 9 kilometers from Nizamabad Bus Station.The college is affiliated to JNTU Hyderabad and approved by AICTE,New Delhi.

History

VREC was established in 1997 with four branches of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with a capacity of 40 seats per branch.The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2012.The initial strength of 160 improved every year and present intake is around 1200 (including Diploma,MCA.MBA and M.Tech). It has been managed by Ideal Education Society.

Campus

VREC,A Block,Nizamabad

The campus is divided in PG and UG by A and B blocks respectively.Vijay College of Pharmacy is also situated in the VREC campus.The college has started JKC (Jawahar Knowledge Center) in 2006 and it is upgraded to JKC-Star Center.It is co-ordinated by Institute of Electronic Governance (IEG-Govt. of A.P). There are labs,workshops and computer centers within all the blocks of the college.There is a library and Information center too.

Academics

The college admits undergraduate students through the statewide EAMCET exam conducted every year. It offers B.Tech & M.Tech courses in multiple disciplines.Besides it provides the facility for attending various workshops on multiple topics which avail students a great opportunity to progress in every opportunity they utilize.The college also offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) & MCA through its Department of Management.VREC along with JNTUH is the only college in the state of Telangana which offers Cyber Forensics & Information Security discipline.

Fests

The college holds cultural fests every year and the students belonging to other engineering colleges in the district participate too.

NSS

LEAD programme at VREC

NSS unit was established in the college in 2001. From the day of beginning, NSS unit was conducting various programmes. The main activities of NSS unit at VREC are blood donation camp, anti-ragging squads, medical camps in villages, environmental awareness and other LEAD programmes.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The NCC unit was inaugurated on 16 November 2013 by the commanding officer of NCC 12 (A) battalion, Col. Y S Pathania at Vijay Rural Engineering College. VREC is only college in the district that has set up separate NCC units for boys and girls.

Placement Cell

The training and placement cell was started with a vision to provide excellent training to the student so that they can work in multinational companies and become good entrepreneurs.The cell coordinates various training activities like soft skill,communication skills,aptitude and technical skills and certification programs like Infosys campus connect foundation program, DB2, Microsoft certification.It also provides career guidance like abroad studies GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, GATE, GMAT and CAT.
