Product Developments

ViXS launched the first SoC to process Ultra HD video with HEVC and 10 bit color. They announced the launch of their next generation chip XCode 6800 which will include HDR - High Dynamic Range. Another recent product launch is Ethernet over Coaxial (EoC) which is targeted at Multi Dwelling Units. EoC products allow existing coaxial infrastructure to become managed IP networks. Customers include Sharp, Sling Box, Toshiba, Cisco and Panasonic.

The company has developed video codecs with capabilities for processing, managing, protecting and distributing broadcast-quality video. ViXS hardware can be found in consumer electronics and Pay TV products, and is also provided to OEMs and ODMs. ViXS XCode video processors are deployed in a variety of designs such as IPTV/cable set-top boxes, streaming boxes, Ultra HD TVs, SCSA devices, Ultra HD Blu-ray, and headless and headed gateways. To date, ViXS has issued and filed over 516 patents and shipped over 33 million chips.[2]
