Veldurthi is a mandal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Politics
There are two active political parties in Veldurthy, the Telugu Desam Party and Congress Party. The present MLA is K.E.Prabhakar who is the son of K.E.Madanna. There are several supporters are there from Telugu Desam party, B.Shiva Shanker Reddy Party senior leader and T.E.Balaram Goud Youth Leader in Veldurthy(MDL). The K.E family's younger generation K.E Hari, K.E.Shyam, K.E.Venu had recently increased their presence in the political scenario surrounding the Veldurthy area which resulted in a landslide victory back to the K.E family. The Kotla family on the other side have been making similar moves involving their younger generation Kotla Raghavendra Reddy son of Kotla jaya surya prakash Reddy.Presently the ruling party in veldurhy is congress and Avula venkateswarlu is the President and Leader in Veldurthy(MDL).

As one must pass through Veldurthi to reach Anantapur district or Hindupur or Bengaluru, Madurai, Kanyakumari while travelling from Hyderabad. Veldurthi is connected to most cities and towns in Andhra Pradesh as well as to Bengaluru by the National Highway 7
(Part of Golden Quadrangle 4lane route) connects Veldurthi to Hyderabad (240 km, 4.30 hours),
Anantapur(110 km, 2.30 hours), Hindupur {215 km, 6.20 hours} and Bengaluru (330 km;8 hrs). The State R&B road connects to National Highway 18 Kurnool-Chittoor connects the city to Panyam, Nandyal, Allagadda, Ahobilam(near to the highway), Mahanandi(near to the highway), Maidukuru, Kadapa, Rayachoty Pileru, and Chittoor, Chennai. And the State Highway connects to Kodumuru, Yemmiganuru, Adoni, Bellary.

Veldurthy Railway Station lies on the Hyderabad – Guntakal railway line and has passenger trains to Hyderabad, Guntakal, Goothy, and Nandyal, Guntur, which caters to the short distance passengers.

- Bramhagundam is a Lord Shiva Temple located east of the near Veldurthy, within 3 km of Veldurthy, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Kameswaridevi sahita Brmhagundeswara Swamy Temple, an important shrine, is located here. This ancient temple dates back over 1,500 years. The inscriptions are from the 10th century. A festival is held here annually during February and March to celebrate Maha Shivaratri, the Great Night of Shiva. Bramhagundam is about 3 km from Veldurthi Bus Stop. The nearest airport is at Hyderabad, which is about 215 km from Kurnool, and the nearest railway station is at Veldurthi.
