Vasilica Viorica Dăncilă (born 16 December 1963) is a Romanian politician, who, since the 2009 election has been a Member of the European Parliament for Romania, representing the Social Democratic Party. She sits, along with her party colleagues in the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats group. Since 2010 she has also served as Vice-President of the National Women's Organisation of the Social Democratic Party of Romania (PSD).[1]
Before entering politics she was an engineer with Petrom SA and prior to that a teacher at Videle Industrial Secondary School.
Parliamentary activities
She is a Member of the following Parliamentary committees and other bodies:
- Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development
- Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries
- Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean
From March 2010 until March 2011 she served as Leader of the PSD Group in the European Parliament.[2]
