Valea Chioarului (Hungarian: Kővárgara) is a commune in Maramureş County, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Curtuiuşu Mare (Nagykörtvélyes), Duruşa (Durusa), Fericea (Szamosfericse), Mesteacăn (Kisnyíres), Valea Chioarului and Vărai (Kőváralja).
