Vainona High School
Vainona High School is a high school in a suburb called Vainona, near Borrowdale, Zimbabwe.
History
Vainona High School accepted its first 150 pupils in January 1974.
The founder-head-master was Mr. William (Bill) A. Staude. In 1997, the school had one of the best O'level pass rates in Zimbabwe.It had one of the greatest Hockey fields in Zimbabwe till 2006. Current Head is Mr. A. Mhene who took over from the Acting Headmistress Mrs. N. Chinamasa. Mrs N. Chinamasa took over from Mrs B Sibanda who has since retired after attaining the age of 65. Mrs. B. Sibanda replaced the Late Mr. D P Makanza who passed on in June 2013. Previous headmaster L Nhembe

Many famous Zimbabwe sports personalities attended school at Vainona High School.
- Andy Flower, the Zimbabwean cricket player, before he moved to St Georges
- Aubrey Chiumbu-Maseko, Former Miss Zimbabwe 1999
- Takudzwa Ngwenya – Plays for the USA (Eagles) and Biarritz in France.
- Barry Manandi, a great sports commentator
- Cephas Doc Chinkoli - the greatest freelance graphic designer in Zimbabwe and owner of the regional media company,Docmedia.
