Vācaspati
Vachaspati (vāchaspati "lord of Vāc (speech)") is a Rigvedic deity presiding over human life. The name is applied especially to Brhaspati, the lord of eloquence, but also to Soma, Vishvakarman and Prajapati.
Other uses
- Vachaspati is also term for an orator in the Bhagavata Purana, and the name of a rishi, a lexicographer, a philosopher, and others.
- Vachaspati is also the name of a poet, prasasti (panegyric) to Bhavadeva Bhatta. He is also called Vachaspati Kavi (poet Vachaspati) to distinguish him from the Sanskrit scholar Vachaspati Misra.
