V. H. Lewis
V. H. Lewis (1912–2000) was a minister and general superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene. A native of Nebraska, Lewis graduated from Bethany Nazarene College. He began his work in the ministry as an evangelist, and traveled for 8 years in this field. Another 7 years in the pastorate and 9 years as superintendent of the Houston District, Dr. Lewis was elected the first full-time executive secretary of the Department of Evangelism in 1956. He was elected general superintendent at the 1960 General Assembly.
