Uxbridge High School, Quaker Highway, Uxbridge, MA, built 2012

Uxbridge High School (UHS) is the only high school in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. The school is a part of Uxbridge Public Schools. A new high school opened in 2012 at 300 Quaker Highway.

Academics UHS prides itself with strong academics in all subject areas, especially the sciences. Introduction to Physics and Technology is one such a class that is a staple to every Spartan's schedule.

UHS has recently received a grant to run more AP courses, giving every Uxbridge student the opportunity to take an AP course in their area of academic interest, or even as many as 4 AP courses junior and senior year. UHS also gives juniors who excel in English to take AP English at the senior level. Some AP programs, such as French, are even offered online. The ranking of Uxbridge High for AP classes was recognized within Worcester County[2]

UHS applies a unique trimester schedule, so the year is divided into three segments of 12 weeks, or 60 days. Typical electives run over one trimester, typical academic courses run over two trimesters, and all AP level courses run over three trimesters. Students take 5 classes per trimester. Trimesters were incorporated into Uxbridge to allow students to take more elevtives, and to better prepare them for college-style learning.

Athletics The Uxbridge High School mascot is the Spartan. UHS participates in the S.W.C.L. division, of athletics. It is home to more than fifteen varsity teams.
