Uppugundur is a village in the Prakasam district Naguluppalapadu mandal of Andhra Pradesh.
Amara Purushottam Mamidi Obaiah and co is the first industry started in uppugundur by Late Amara Purushottam.
Archaeological survey of India on May 6, 2012, discovered a 1st-century A.D. damaged statue of Buddha in the midst of a votive stupa, proving the area enjoyed high reputation of residence of several Buddhist monks during 1st and 3rd century A.D.
