The Upper Carniola Statistical Region (Slovene: Gorenjska statistična regija) is a statistical region in northwest Slovenia.

The estimated population in 2004 was 198,342. It has a total area of 2,137 km².
Economy
Employment structure: 49.3% services, 47.6% industry, 3.1% agriculture.

It is the second most popular tourist destination of all the regions (21.6%), the tourists being from: 23.6% Slovenia, 5.2% Austria, 6.2% Croatia, 11.6% Italy, 24.0% Germany, 8.0% UK, 44.9% other countries.
