Umbra is a Toronto-based designer and manufacturer of houseware. (The name umbra means shade in Latin). The company was founded by two childhood friends in 1979. The company now sells more than 2,000 home products, sold through 25,000 retailers in 75 countries. The company's products are recognized by a stylized "U" printed on each item.[1][2]
