History

Uline was founded in 1980 by Dick and Liz Uihlein and originally distributed a single item, a carton sizer. Dick and Liz Uihlein started their business in their basement; the company has grown to employ more than 4,500 people.

Expansion

The Village Board of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin unanimously approved final plans for a second building at Uline’s headquarters in February 2016.The final site and operational plans call for a three-story, 284,260-square-foot building, located on 37.3 acres at 12100 Uline Place. An additional 500 workers are expected to be employed when the new facility opens. The building can accommodate up to 800 employees. Uline is hoping to begin construction this month, and the new facility is expected to be completed by August 2016.[6]
