Ubisoft Kiev, Ukraine is a Ukrainian video game developer based in Kiev, Ukraine. The company is owned and operated by Ubisoft. It is one of Ubisoft's Eastern European divisions, along with Ubisoft Romania, Ubisoft Poland and Ubisoft Sofia. The company opened in 2008.

History

About opening of the studio was officially announced in the press release April 29 2008. It was also said that at the beginning Ukrainian studio will work in co-op with Romanian, but then proceed to be an independent game developer.[1][2] Some of the developers were trained at Ubisoft Romania, and worked there on the porting arcade flight simulator Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII with the Xbox 360 on PC prior to the opening of the studio.

On March 17 2009, a port of the Xbox 360 version of the game Tom Clancy's HAWX was released on PC with the help of six of the studio's employees. As of March 2010 the team included sixteen people, with the possibility of future expansion. In an interview later that year with website PlayGround.ru[3] it was revealed that, the studio was working on adding support for the game engine, developed by the main company, as well as porting unannounced games for the PC and Mac OS versions of games and collaborating with other Ubisoft studios.

Specialized in bringing Ubisoft’s franchises to home computers, the studio has worked on AAA projects such as From Dust®, Driver® San Francisco, Assassin's Creed® Revelations, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier®, Assassin’s Creed® 3 and Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™. In 2014, Ubisoft Kiev shipped simultaneously two major AAA titles for PC platforms: Assassin’s Creed® Unity and Far Cry® 4. The studio’s latest achievements include the PC version of Assassin’s Creed® Rogue and cross-platform delivery for the post-launch of Trials Fusion™ in collaboration with RedLynx. Over the past years, the teams have also been working closely with Massive studio for continuous delivery and support of Uplay PC. Ubisoft Kiev is now focusing on new AAA titles, collaborating closely with Ubisoft Quebec on Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate and bringing its expertise to Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6® Siege and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon®Wildlands, along with other unannounced projects.
