"u" is a song by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, taken from his third album, To Pimp a Butterfly (2015).[1] In December 2015, Lamar released the short film "God Is Gangsta", which features the songs "u" and "For Sale".[2]

Lyrical interpretation

Lamar stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that "u" was "one of the hardest songs I had to write. There's some very dark moments in there. All my insecurities, selfishness and letdowns."[3]
