The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (popularly known as UCL Faculty of Arts and Humanities) is one of the 11 constituent faculties of University College London (UCL).[3]
The current Executive Dean is Professor Henry Woudhuysen, who was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2010.[1]
History
In October 2013 it was announced that the Translation Studies Unit of Imperial College London would move to UCL, becoming part of the UCL School of European Languages, Society and Culture.[4]

BASc Arts and Sciences programme
UCL began intake in 2012 of a new interdisciplinary, undergraduate degree called Arts and Sciences. It is part of the UCL Faculty of Arts and Humanities. The degree offers a bespoke programme incorporating both arts and sciences specialisms with students graduating with a Bachelors in Arts and Sciences (abbreviated as BASc).[9] The programme offers material from almost all UCL departments, including new modules specifically designed for the course by leading UCL academics.[10]
Rankings
In the 2013 QS World University Rankings, UCL is ranked 8th in the world (and 3rd in Europe) for Arts and Humanities.[11] In the 2014 QS World University Rankings by Subject, UCL is ranked 15th in the world (and 4th in Europe) for English Language and Literature,[12] 8th in the world (and 3rd in Europe) for Modern Languages[13] and joint 51st-100th in the world (and joint 16th in Europe) for Philosophy.[14]
In the 2012/13 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, UCL is ranked 10th in the world (and 3rd in Europe) for Arts and Humanities.[15]
