Tyson Larson (born April 16, 1986 in Fort Carson, Colorado) is a Nebraska state senator from O'Neill, Nebraska, United States, in the Nebraska Legislature.
Early life
Tyson Larson graduated from Weeping Water High School in 2004 and Georgetown University with a B.A. in government and theology, with a minor in Anthropology in 2008. He currently owns and operates a small business with his wife Haley, Theo Hunt Consulting, LLC.
State legislature
In 2010 Larson defeated 20-year incumbent Senator Cap Dierks and was elected to represent the 40th Nebraska legislative district. During his first two years in the Legislature, Larson sat on the Agriculture, Enrollment and Review (Chairman), General Affairs, Judiciary, and State-Tribal Relations committees; he currently sits only on the Appropriations committee, which controls the states $8.5 billion budget.
