The SGE (Small Gasoline Engine), commercially known as TwinAir, is a inline-two engine designed and produced by Fiat Powertrain Technologies and mounted on several Fiat Group Automobiles vehicles.
Development and launch
Fiat's new SGE two-cylinder engine was first shown at Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung 2007 on the Fiat Panda Aria concept car.[1] The SGE in Panda Aria was an 80 PS, turbocharged, CNG-hydrogen mix and gasoline bifuel unit.
The production TwinAir engine was launched at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in 85 PS, turbocharged gasoline form; it was first made available in July of the same year on the Fiat 500.[2]
