Tumala Mountain

Tumala Mountain is part of the Clackamas Foothills near Mount Hood in the U.S. state of Oregon, located within Mount Hood National Forest, near Estacada.[1] It is 4,764 feet above sea level.[1]

In 2007, the Board on Geographic Names renamed the mountain, which was previously called Squaw Mountain, due to the word "squaw" being offensive.[1][2] The word Tumala means "tomorrow" or "afterlife" in the Chinook Jargon.[2]
