Tron LaFavor (born November 27, 1979) is an American former college and professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for a single season in 2003. LaFavor played college football for the University of Florida, and thereafter, he played professionally for the Chicago Bears of the NFL.

Early years

LaFavor was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1979.[1] He attended Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale,[2] and played high school football for the Dillard Panthers.[3] As a senior in 1998, he was a Florida Class 6A first-team all-state selection and was a USA Today honorable mention high school All-American.[3]

College career

LaFavor accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played for coach Steve Spurrier and coach Ron Zook's Florida Gators football team from 1999 to 2002.[4] As a sophomore in 2000, he was a member of the Gators' Southeastern Conference (SEC) championship team.[3]

LaFavor graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in sociology in 2003.

Professional career

The Chicago Bears selected LaFavor in the fifth round (171st pick overall) over the 2003 NFL Draft, and he played for the Bears in four games during the 2003 season.[5] He was also a member of the Dallas Cowboys regular season squad during the 2004 season, but appeared in no games.[5]
