Triumvir Monetalis [English: Monetal Triumvir] was one of three officers (moneyers) appointed in Ancient Rome to oversee the minting of coins. The English word "money", the French word "monnaie", the Spanish word "moneda" and the Portuguese word "moeda" are perhaps derived from this title.
