Trio World Academy was established in 2007 in Sahakara Nagar, Bangalore, India. It is an international day and residential/boarding school offering Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSE, AS, A levels, and ICSE until grade 6. This school is know for its unique way of teaching i. e differential learning programme, where they create individual lesson plan for students.[1] It also offers weekly Boarding facility i.e from Monday to Friday, it is very popular in Bangalore due to chocked roads.[2] TRIO is a candidate school for the IB diploma program and planning to start IB Primary Years Programme in 2016 .The school is managed by TRIO Vidyakkendra Private Ltd. which is a subsidiary company of MCN group.[3] This group has recently announced to invest around 100 crores in education by opening two more international schools in South India.[4]

The school represents students from over 32 countries.[5] To promote intercultural understanding and respect they celebrates various festivals and conducts programs such as Hindi Diwas, Peace Day, Halloween, Christmas,[6] Holi, Diwali, International Yoga Day[7] and International Francophonie Day each year.[8]

To improve environmental awareness among students, the Academy invited renowned professor and Director of National Museum of Natural History Paris Gilles Boeuf to talk about the importance of biodiversity and oceans.[9] They also conduct an annual science fair.[10]

It has university placement in Indian colleges and abroad including some Ivy League Universities.[11] It is among the few schools to offer TEDEd club and has tie up with Alliance française de Bangalore & Royal Society of chemistry,[12] London.

TRIO emphasises on Art & Design[13] and theater[14] programs which is used to teach,recap and assess the lesson.It is offered as a extracurricular activities.They also invite story tellers and musicians across the globe to perform and interact with children.[15][16][17]

Sports & Extracurricular Activity Achievements

  1. Nikaya of IGCSE has got highest marks in sociology subject in India, 2015-16 session.[30]
  2. 3rd grade student Raghav Bhatia won gold at the Karnataka State Level Swimming Championship Freestyle Relay in 2015.[31]
  3. Vanessa Job, a teacher at the school, won the World 10k Bangalore women's category in 2014.[32]
  4. 11th grade student Vrushank Balu won the last leg of the South Zone Golf Tour in June 2014.[33]
  5. 4th grade student Arjun Bharat won the World School Chess Trophy in the under 9 category in Singapore [34][35] and Canadian Open Chess Championship in Toronto in 2008.[36]

Community Service

This school is known for its community service across various fields. Community service is an integral part of the curriculum, where students help the community in various ways.

  1. TRIO Students collected e waste of approx 294 kg to create awareness about segregation and recycle in Bangaluru.It is suppose to be a Limca Book of record.[37][38]
  2. Students celebrated Diwali with Underprivileged children in Bangalore.[39]
  3. Students, using their own money, donated raincoats with reflectors to Bangalore traffic police.[40][41]
  4. Middle school students initiated a grey water harvesting project for water conservation to help the neighboring Kodigehalli Government School.[42]
  5. Students, teachers and parents donated approximately Rs 20,000 for victims of the April 2015 Nepal earthquake [43]
  6. Taking forward the initiative of the Swatch Bharat program, students developed eco-friendly dustbins that can easily segregate plastic and paper. It was donated it to the Sahakar Nagar locality.[44]
  7. Students collected funds for a Government School in Kodigehalli to buy books, shoes and Uniforms for underprivileged children and adopted the school.[45]
  8. The students, with the help of Fair Trade India, made India's largest T-shirt and world's largest sustainable T-shirt made out of fair trade and organic cotton. It was unveiled at the campus. Approximately 380 kg of cotton seed was used to create a total of 5,140 km length of cotton yarn (well over the 3,643 km distance from Srinagar to Kanyakumari) which weighed about 94 kg as fabric.[46][47]
  9. Students participated in World Environment Day with the motto "Save species Save Life" on 5 June 2014 at Cubbon Park.[48]
  10. Students, through a book fair, collected approximately 1,25,000 for the critical surgery of an abandoned baby girl.[49]
  11. Students raised funds for victims of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake,[50] 2010 Haiti earthquake,[51] and for Jammu & Kashmir flood victims [52]

Preschool

TRIO runs a preschool chain called TRIO TOTS that is claimed to be one of the Most Spacious Preschool in Bangalore.[53] It was awarded for its "innovation in preschool education" at the World Education Summit 2015 in New Delhi.The award was presented by Deputy CM of New Delhi .[54] It has centers in Sahakar Nagar and HSR Layout.
