Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialogue

The Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) founded in 1998 "is a forum of US and EU consumer organizations which develops and agrees on joint consumer policy recommendations to the US government [1] and European Union to promote the consumer interest in EU and US policy making". [2] [3]

TACD is an important forum for transatlantic discussions on Intellectual rights, Internet Society, and food [4]

Members include The European Consumers' Organisation, ACLU, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Privacy International, Consumers Union and Consumer Federation of America [5]


TACD is working the Commission of the European Union [6]

TACD holds a conference once a year, alternately in U.S.A and the EU [7]


Some activities have been funded by Open Society Institute. [8]
