The Times-Advocate, also called The Escondido Times-Advocate, is a biweekly newspaper published in Valley Center, California serving the city of Escondido and surrounding communities. The newspaper was founded by Howard Publications in 1909 as The Escondido Times-Advocate. In 1995, The North County Times was formed by the merger of the North County Blade-Citizen of Oceanside and the Escondido Times. The Times-Advocate name was revived in 2014 by real estate broker Kelly Crews,[1] and later sold in January 2016[2] to Roadrunner Publications.
The Times-Advocate, known affectionately by local residents simply as "The TA" is one of the few independently owned newspapers in San Diego County.
