TimberTech

TimberTech is a low maintenance decking, railing, and fencing manufacturer. Located in Wilmington, Ohio, TimberTech's product lineup includes wood-composite, capped composite and PVC decking, railing, deck lighting elements, under deck drainage systems and hidden fastener installation systems.[1] TimberTech was started in 1996, one year after their parent company, the Crane Group, invested in a new wood/plastic blending system.[2] TimberTech now sells internationally, with products available in more than 30 countries outside of the U.S. and Canada.[3]

Mergers and Acquisitions

In August 2012, Timbertech, a subsidiary of the Crane Group, was acquired by CPG International (owner of Azek Building Product)[4] from Crane.[5]

Competitors

TimberTech's competitors in the composite decking industry include Trex, Azek, Fiberon, Geodeck, AERT, and Evergrain, among others.

Potential Lawsuit

An investigation is underway to determine if a class action lawsuit is warranted due to poor quality products and sub par customer service. Issues range from fading of the product to mold problems.[6] A class action lawsuit was filed against TimberTech and CPG International, Inc. (who bought TimberTech in 2012) in June 2014.[7]
