Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends is a video game based on Shining Time Station and the Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends television series released on August 2, 1993. The game was developed by Software Creations (SNES) / Malibu (Genesis) and published by THQ. It is available for the Super Nintendo and Mega Drive platforms. It was also made for the Nintendo Entertainment System but was canceled. However, a ROM prototype of the NES version circulates the internet.

Gameplay

The player is popping a balloon at a railroad racing event as seen in the Genesis version.

Players control Thomas the Tank Engine as he takes special trips he has to organize: Take children to the seaside, medicine to the hospital or deliver the mail. Hazards such as dead ends, level crossings, other trains and vehicles impede the player's route.
