Thomas Schoenberger (born June 1960) is an American composer and music producer currently based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his work as a classical music composer who created the popular infant music series Music for Infants.

Career

His first sonatas, written at four years of age, were premiered at the Brand Library in Glendale. Early tours throughout Europe helped the young composer hone his skills as both a pianist and composer. After studying music theory and piano with virtuoso Clara Crystal ( 1964-1967) and furthering his studies with composer/mentor Elmer Bernstein, Schoenberger composed over 1000 original sonatas, concerti, and other musical pieces by the time he reached 10.

In his late teens and early 20's, Schoenberger was the front man, lead singer for seminal punk rock band Chill Factor (Radio Toyko Tapes/ Ethan James) with the musician and composer Alex Gordon.

In 1982 his co-written song "Looney Bin" was recorded by Angelyne [1]

In the late 1990s, Schoenberger teamed up with Preston Glass to compose a compilation of songs written with Glass, Schoenberger, former Tower of Power lead singer Lenny Williams, and Lamont Dozier.

In 1999, Schoenberger released Music for Infants, a behavioral modification CD, which quickly sold in over 20 countries. and which won the Dr.Toy Award there years in a row (2000-2003).[2]

Articles on the unique composing skills of Thomas Schoenberger have been published in Billboard, The San Francisco Chronicle, Good Housekeeping and other publications. Additionally, his music has been found to have benefit to people suffering from autism.[3][4]

In 2003, Guide Dogs for the Blind tested Schoenberger's music in a number of their kennels and licensed Schoenberger's music through former Warner Special Projects director Neil Werde. The CD was sold internationally.

In 2013, Schoenberger started his own company Sophia Musik, with a YouTube channel that experienced an incredible 15 million views in the first 12 months. The popularity of the channel is due to Schoenbeger's dramatic music being incorporated into short video narratives, a new method for classical musicians to express their craft.[5] During that year Schoenberger, teaming up with Soprano Marnie Breckeridge, had his original piece "Annunciation" placed in the Botticelli Gallery at the famed Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.[6]

Schoenberger is working with composers and musicians worldwide, and has started SophiaMusik, a company dedicated to composing music for film and television.. Among his musical partners is the composer Michael A. Levine.
