Thomas Halbert

Thomas Halbert (c.1808 – 12 April 1865) was a New Zealand whaler, trader and founding father. He was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England, in c.1808. He was the father of Wi Pere and the great-grandfather of Rongowhakaata Halbert.[1]
