Thomas D. Schroeder
Thomas D. Schroeder (born 1959) is a United States federal judge.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Schroeder received a B.S. from Kansas University in 1981 and a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 1984. He was a law clerk to George E. MacKinnon of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 1984 to 1985. He was in private practice, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with the law firm of Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice, from 1985 to 2007.
On January 9, 2007, Schroeder was nominated by President George W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina vacated by Frank W. Bullock. Schroeder was confirmed by the United States Senate on December 14, 2007, and received his commission on January 8, 2008.
