Thiocarbonic acid is an inorganic acid which is related to carbonic acid. Its chemical formula is H2CS3.
It can be synthesized through the reaction of hydrosulfide and carbon disulfide:
- CS2 + SH− → S2CSH−
- S2CSH− + OH− → CS32− + H2O[1]
Thiocarbonic acid decomposes when heated:
- H2CS3 → CS2 + H2S (g)
