Thinornis is a genus of plovers which consists of two extant and threatened species. They are variously placed in the genus Charadrius.
- Hooded dotterel or hooded plover (Thinornis cucullatus)
- Shore dotterel or shore plover (Thinornis novaeseelandiae)
A third described species, the Auckland Islands shore plover (Thinornis rossi), which is only known by one specimen collected in 1840, is of uncertain status.
