theta (シータ) is a video game software developed by Giles Goddard's development studio VITEI and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It was released exclusively in Japan on September 6, 2007.

Gameplay

theta includes two puzzle modes and a "My Aquarium & Fish Album". There are some unlockable fish and the music for the Aquarium Puzzle mode can be changed using the L and R buttons.

Kaiten Puzzle

In this mode, the player must cautiously spin the theta-shaped wheels in order to move the colored spheres into the wheel(s) of the same color. In higher levels, there are wheels on the Top Screen that would spin at the same time as the wheels on the Touch Screen, causing accidents to occur. For such, there is a button right next to the wheels on the bottom screen that undos to help solve the puzzles. When every level is complete, the colored spheres are moved to the final level that is based on the other puzzle mode. Some other Kaiten Puzzle levels contain other things besides wheels, like pipes.

Aquarium Puzzle

In the Aquarium Puzzle mode, the Top Screen shows a 3D-rendered aquarium, complete with corals, castles and various species of fish. The object of this mode is to push or drag the colored spheres into certain circles called vortexes according to the images on the Top Screen. Once their inside a vortex, they will slowly spin and charge up for disappearance; however, if any sphere outside of the vortexes that are unnecessary for them (especially the unmatchable, heavier black spheres that are very attractive to vortexes) come in contact with the ones inside the vortexes, they will interrupt the disappearing process, causing the player to start over either by putting the spheres back in the vortexes they left out of, or by waiting for another vortex to occur in case if the older ones disappeared. When some spheres are successfully sucked into a vortex, the aquarium on the Top Screen will slightly clear up. When it completely clears up, the level is finished and the next group of puzzles are unlocked.
