The Universe (Catholic newspaper)
The Universe is a newspaper for Roman Catholics in Great Britain and Ireland, published by the Universe Media Group from its offices based at the Guardian Print Centre, Trafford Park in Manchester, England.[1]
It was founded on 8 December 1860 by Archibald Joseph Dunn,[2] and has been in continuous publication since. The newspaper's editor is Joseph Kelly, a managing director.[1] Former editors include Christopher Monckton and Rowanne Pasco.
The Universe Media Group also publishes The Catholic Times (a weekly broadsheet),[1] Catholic Life,[1] Catholic Companion, Who's Who in Catholic Life,[1] Church Building,[1] Novena, Vatican: Past and Present, From the Catholic Archives and other third party Catholic titles. In 2010 it was the official publisher and distributor for a number of UK papal visit publications and resources, including Heart to Heart, Welcome Pope Benedict, and the Official Magnificat Papal Mass.
