Notes
- The original recorded version of "Instruments of Destruction" had slightly different lyrics from the one that ended up being used. The words "foreplay", "torture", and "seduction" were deemed offensive and were replaced with "fortune", "torment" and "eruption" respectively.
- "Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way" was a cover of a song originally performed by Australian singer John Farnham for the soundtrack to the film Savage Streets.
- "Hunger" was later covered on King Kobra's Ready To Strike album.
- Anime series Dancouga later featured an image song performed by Kazuki Yao titled "Ai o Shitta Yajū no Yō ni" (愛を知った野獣のように), which heavily borrows from "Dare", down to a note-for-note intro and identical synths throughout the track.
- Power-metal band N.R.G. has since been reborn as Damn Cheetah, with a first album release titled Primal.[3]
- The Lion cover version of the main Transformers theme was itself covered on the NES by chiptune artist Inverse Phase and renamed to "NESformers".[4]
- "Subsong 2" from the Commodore 64 game Turrican is actually the song "Escape" from The Transformers: The Movie soundtrack.[5] Similarly, the game ending music is based on "The Death of Optimus Prime".
- The Bonus tracks are made up of songs found in Til All Are One and Lighting Their Darkest Hour albums.
- "Unicron Medley" is made up of the songs "Unicron's Theme", "Witness to a Funeral" & "The Enemy Revealed". "Unicron's Theme" and "The Enemy Revealed" are based on Ivan Drago's theme from DiCola's Rocky IV soundtrack.
- "Moon Base 2 - Shuttle Launch" is the song "2005"
- "Megatron Must Be Stopped (Parts 1 and 2)" are made up of the songs "City Under Siege" & "Showdown"
In popular culture
- The song "The Touch" is performed by Mark Wahlberg's character Dirk Diggler in the 1997 film Boogie Nights. His performance appears as a hidden track on the soundtrack album to the film.
- Stan Bush's original version of "The Touch" was used in the 2008 Chuck episode "Chuck Versus Tom Sawyer".[6]
- The "Passiona High" sketch from cult Australian radio show Get This was based around several songs from the Transformers soundtrack, reworked into the storyline of an underdog nerd winning the eponymous school's annual synthesizer solo contest. The album tracks featured are "The Touch", "Autobot/Decepticon Battle", "Escape" and "Dare".[7]
- The "Get Psyched Mix" from Barney Stinson and the "Bro Code" in How I Met Your Mother point "The Transformers Theme" as a "Classic Get Psyched Song".
