The Tourist is an upcoming 2016 independent romantic drama film written and directed by Evan Oppenheimer[2] and starring Brett Dalton, Stana Katic, Alessandra Mastronardi, Marco Bonini, Alessandro Preziosi and Emily Atack.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

The film follows a heartbroken former college football star who gets in over his head with a dangerous Florentine sport and an alluring local woman.[10] The sport played in the film is Calcio Fiorentino, an archaic form of soccer that has been played in Italy since the sixteenth century.[11]

Plot

Eric Lazard (Brett Dalton) is a heartbroken former college football star who gets in over his head with a dangerous Florentine sport and an alluring local woman, Stephanie (Alessandra Mastronardi), while visiting his cousin Anna (Stana Katic), who lives in Italy and teaches the Italian language to foreigners.[2][10]

Filming

Filming took place on location in Florence, Italy for four weeks beginning 9 June 2014,[13] and filming completed around 10 July 2014.[14]

Post-production

As of December 2014, The Tourist is in post production and is awaiting distribution.[15]
