The Survivalist is a 2015 British science fiction thriller film written and directed by Stephen Fingleton[3] and starring Mia Goth, Martin McCann, and Olwen Fouere.[4] Filmed in Northern Ireland,[5] the post apocalyptic thriller[6] is in UK cinemas and on demand 12 February 2016.[7]
Plot
Set in a time of starvation, the Survivalist lives off a small plot of land hidden deep in the forest.[8] Living off the grid the survivalist relies on primal instinct and his wits to stay alive.[9] A starving woman and a girl she says is her daughter come about his refuge, initially seeking trader.[10] Naturally suspicious of all strangers, he strikes a bargain for bed and board, while sharing his bed with the daughter.[11] This generates a tense ongoing arrangement in a kill or be killed world.[12]

Critical reception
The Survivalist received positive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an 93% score based on 15 reviews, with an average rating of 7.3/10.[13]
